(Youth Media Impacting Communities)

YOUTH M.I.C is a youth program providing young people with high-quality training in media making and in community service. In this program, 7-8 youth receive advanced media-making and media-communication training. Program participants learn skills (i.e. video-making, web-production, multi-media presentations, etc.), and use these skills as they partner with established and grassroots arts, cultural, and community organizations.

YOUTH M.I.C's goal is to build a new generation of creative youth media-makers who will participate in media education, media management, grassroots communication, and cultural/community service.

These youth are also responsible for producing "Defense Against Media Nonsense YC News" (DAMN YC News), a monthly 1/2-hour show to investigate their world and examines the news from mainstream media.

Youth Media Distribution, (YMDi.org) provides information and tools that are essential to increasing the visibility of youth made media.

YMDi.org improves the distribution of independent youth created film, video, radio and new media. The short of it is YMDi will help you find your audience. (more) www.ymdi.org
